Friant Family Portraits | The Palmer's
Friant Family Portraits | The Palmer's

Family is one of nature's masterpieces. George Santayana
I woke up and it was still dark outside. This session was scheduled to be a sunrise session on daylight savings time. I had to check over and over again to make sure I knew exactly when the sun was coming up (daylight savings time is not awesome... just saying). As I made my coffee, I rechecked my phone to make sure everything was good to go. I gathered my things and walked outside, ready for a fun spring session. As I locked my front door I turned around and...... fog. Dense, Dense fog! Taking a deep breath I prayed that it wouldn't be foggy for these Friant family portraits.
Driving down the road, I could only go about 25 mpg due to the dense fog. Slowly I drove to my session hoping for a glimpse of blue sky. Friant is about 20 minutes from my house, but not on this foggy morning. It took me over 35 minutes to get to my location. About 5 minutes before I reached the town of Friant, there it was!!! Blue Sky!!!
As I drove up to my location is was beginning to get light outside and we were just above the fog. Thank you Lord! Off to the West the moon was setting which made for some of the most amazing pictures. Talk about epic! Below the fog is Fresno, but no one would ever know if you didn't say anything.
The Palmer's are one of the most gorgeous families. They are nothing but smiles, giggles, and beauty both on the inside and out. I was so thrilled the way that this session turned out. We started off on a flat section of the hill in order to get the moon setting in the background. We then walked to the top of the hill to get the majority of the family portraits. There weren't many wildflowers out yet, but I think the moon and the fog made this session so much more epic.
Thank you all so much for allowing me to be your photographer!
